I had a small suite (room 903 on top floor) with view westward towards the harbour and south to the Rio de la Plata. Coming off a sailing ship after 40 days at sea and sharing a 4-berth cabin meant having a shower, toilet and bidet all to myself was absolute luxury. Internet connection was good (ask at front desk for the loan of an adapter). There is a balcony with a glass rail and 2 armchairs. Small fridge, Tea/coffe2-making facilities in the pantry. Breakfast only (due to Covid restrictions) in the small bistro with yoghurt, cereals, bread, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, croissants and cake. There is a small rooftop swimming pool on a deck with a couple of sun loungers. The guys at reception, Christian and Merwin, were most helpful with printing out my flight boarding passes, booking me a tour of Montevideo by private taxi as the usual tours did not operate on Sundays, and booking my return Turil coach ticket to Colonia del Sacramento (20 USD) as there were no excursions (ca 80 USD) there on Mondays. They also made the booking for the Cena Show (Casa de Tango) 75 USD at the Primuseum (museum for Primus stoves) with hotel pick-up, meal, wine and tango show, so you don´t need to go all the way to Buenos Aires to see Argentinian tango if you have limited time. Transfer by private car to airport (booked at reception) costs 30 USD set price.

We had to leave early in the morning so we couldn't enjoy our included breakfast. Overall, our stay was pleasent. The staff that helped us during our check in was friendly and kind, same as the staff that helped us during our check out. Location-wise, it was perfect, we walked to the restaurantes around the area and we felt safe. Room-wise, everything was perfect, we had been traveling for a month and Own Hotel was the first hotel that gave us enough shampoo and conditioner for both of us. The shower was clean, and the bed was very comfortable.

We had a situation with our rooms that was promptly resolved by the staff, who were very helpful. Location is nice, one block away from a shopping mall with supermarket, coffee shops (The Lab on a beautiful old house) and restaurants (La Perdiz with the best parrilla). Also close to the "rambla" and the Museo Juan Zorrilla de San Martín, which is a beautiful old house from one of the most influential citizen in the country. Worth the visit.

The room is big and kept clean. Hotel is located in a quiet area in a middle class suburb. It is close to the beach and a big shopping centre. You can also take bus #174 to the bus terminal and other buses to go to the old city and parliament House. It is convenient for travelling. The breakfast is good. The room has got a kitchenette and allows you to make tea and coffee. This hotel is highly recommended.
